Jury Reaches Verdict in Ramel Troy Murder Trial

COLUMBUS COUNTY — A Columbus County man will spend the rest of his life in prison, after being convicted of murder.
Around 7 o’clock Wednesday night, a Whiteville Jury came back with the guilty verdict against Ramel Troy.
Troy was accused in the murder and robbery of 18 year old Chase Powell back in 2002.
Powell was missing for weeks before search crews finally found his body.
A co-defendent in the case has yet to go to trial.
