3 teens arrested in Pender High School fire

PENDER COUNTY — Three teenagers have been arrested in connection with a fire that caused property damage on the Pender High School campus back in early August.

The Pender County Sheriff’s Office has charged 16-year-old Kwame Hayes of Currie, 19-year-old Shannon Tatum of Burgaw and 16-year-old Sabrina Moore of Willard with burning of a school building and injury to real property.

There is a warrant outstanding for 20-year-old Justin Johnson as well as a juvenile also facing charges.

The fire destroyed a storage trailer located next to Bibby Hall.
