Plant expansion brings jobs to Brunswick County

LELAND — More than two dozen new jobs will be coming to Brunswick County with the expansion of a fiber and resin plant in Leland.

Dak Americas is a major producer of soft drink bottles, thermoforming and heat set containers.

It’s recently finished expanding the resin plant at its cape fear manufacturing site.
The expanded operations are expected to generate around five million dollars in combined tax revenues for the federal, state and local economy…plus create new jobs.

Dak site manager Matt Warrick said, “I think the key impact is we’re creating about 30 jobs and improving the effectiveness of about 600 employees here at the site.”

Dak’s Cape Fear site has a capacity of about 450 million pounds of plastic soda bottles a year, bringing Dak’s total worldwide production capacity to more than one billion pounds annually.
