Unused N.C. ferry offered for sale on eBay

MANNS HARBOR, N.C. (AP) — The state of North Carolina is offering an unused ferry for sale on eBay.

The boat is being sold by the state’s surplus property office at a starting bid of $200,000. Bids close Monday.

The N.C. ferry was built to haul Outer Banks school children across Currituck Sound from Corolla to the mainland. Officials say the ferry doesn’t meet the state’s needs.
