Onslow County man jailed, accused of growing marijuana

ONSLOW COUNTY — An Onslow County man is in jail accused of growing marijuana in the woods.

The Sheriff’s Office says David George Shepard of Hubert had 82 marijuana plants worth $200,000 behind a home on Belgrade-Swansboro Road.

Two narcotics agents found the plants and arrested Shepard when he drove up.

Investigators found more marijuana in a building Shepard owns on the property. His bond is set at $60,000.
