Women say drill sergeant accused of rape made sexual advances

FORT BRAGG (AP) — Two women say a Fort Bragg drill sergeant accused of rape and assault made forceful sexual advances toward them in his office.

Prosecutors describe Master Sgt. Roland Perez as a man who used his position to make sexual advances toward multiple women. A former Army Reserve private who has yet to testify against Perez is accusing him of rape.

Another woman who used to work as Perez’s subordinate said in testimony Monday that he made advances toward her when she visited his office. Perez’s ex-wife also testified, saying that Perez tried to get her to kiss him and grabbed her when she declined.

Relationships between supervisors and subordinates are prohibited in the Army.
