Duke talking to former Miss. coach
DURHAM (AP) — Duke University is talking to former Mississippi coach David Cutcliffe.
A person familiar with the search for a new football coach says Cutcliffe was in Durham yesterday. Cutcliffe’s agent, Jimmy Sexton, declined to comment.
The university has been looking for a replacement for fired coach Ted Roof.
Duke’s football team has won just 22 games in 13 years and that record includes three losing streaks of 15 games or worse.
Duke has three straight seasons with 10 or more defeats and has taken an undesired place as one of the worst programs in the Bowl Subdivision.
