New surgical facility coming to Wilmington

WILMINGTON — In the next couple years there will be more choices for health care in Wilmington.

The state recently agreed to let Novant Health open a new surgical facility on Eastwood Road.

The non-profit company manages Brunswick Community Hospital.

Its new, 40,000 square foot facility in Wilmington will include a same-day surgery center with two operating rooms.

Construction is set to begin this spring, with an estimated building cost of seven-million dollars.
