Nike tips off Air Jordan 23, the last?

BEAVERTON, Ore. (AP) — New Air Jordans are coming.

Nike this month will released the 23rd edition of its famous shoes, a number that coincides with Jordan’s most famous jersey number.

It’s also Nike’s first basketball shoe designed under its “Considered” ethos, which tries to reduce waste and use environmentally friendly materials.

The Air Jordan XX3 will be released in three rounds this month and next month. A limited edition will be sent to 23 retailers, sold for $230. The national launch will be $185.

There’s been talk at Nike about retiring the shoe at Number 23, because of the former North Carolina star’s iconic jersey number. Company officials won’t say if this will be the last. Neither will Jordan.

The part-owner of the Charlotte Bobcats says people will have to wait and see.
