Local communities receive millions for revitalization
WILMINGTON — Some local communities are receiving millions of dollars to revitalize their neighborhoods.
More than $13.7 million in community development block grants was handed out to North Carolina communities in our area.
Brunswick County and the town of Navassa will each get $850,000. Onslow County will receive $700,000.
That money will help pay for the construction of water and sewer lines, street improvements and flood drainage.
Tabor City will get a share of $740,000 to build affordable housing units.
The funding was allocated to the state by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development.
