Former Holden Beach officer arrested on brutality charge

HOLDEN BEACH — A former Holden beach police officer has been arrested himself on a brutality charge.

The Brunswick County district attorney says Officer Daniel Gray was re-adjusting David King’s handcuffs when the two got into a scuffle in November.

King suffered facial fractures.

Other officers who saw the fight were concerned gray used excessive force and reported the incident.

Gray resigned in December and was indicted last week on excessive force charges.
