Last minute Valentines Day shoppers keep local florists busy

WILMINGTON — Julia’s Florist on Kerr Avenue in Wilmington had more than 200 walk-in customers this afternoon and delivered more than 450 orders.

Employees say today is their busiest day of the year.

Lucky for the late shoppers, Julia’s says they stock up enough to not run out of flowers.

Surprisingly many of the shoppers today were men.

Last minute shopper Brandon Gay said, “Well of course, like all men, I waited until the last minute. So I came here after school to try and grab as much stuff as I can in as little time as I can.”

Julia says it will try to close its doors at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, but at the same time, try and accommodate as many customers as possible.
