Mayor, preschoolers celebrate Dr. Seuss

WILMINGTON — Oh, the places you’ll go if you read. That’s the message one local preschool is trying to send to its students.

Wednesday students at St. Andrews Covenant Preschool and special guest Wilmington Mayor Bill Saffo celebrated Dr. Seuss‘s birthday by holding a pajama party and reading some classic Suess books.

Even kids not old enough to know what a book is took part.

Teachers say reading to a child, is time well spent. The kids also got a chance to dress the part of the cat in the hat, by making their own paper hats.

Dr. Seuss’s real birthday was Sunday.
