Police: four found slain at troubled Charlotte apartment complex
CHARLOTTE (AP) — Three men and a woman have been found shot to death in a Charlotte apartment complex that authorities say has a reputation for drug sales and prostitution.
The three were found shortly after police responded to a 911 call around 6 a.m. at the Tree Top Apartments on the city’s southwest side.
Police have not identified the victims. Police spokeswoman Julie Hill said investigators are treating the case as a homicide.
Capt. John Williams said police raided the third-story apartment where the bodies were found several months ago. He said drugs were seized and arrests were made.
Williams said police have focused on the complex, using bicycle patrols and stepping up other patrols in the area. He said the complex’s owners don’t seem concerned about the illicit activity.
A man who answered the phone at the company’s office in Charlotte said the company would have no comment.
