Survey: Half of high school students drank alcohol in last 30 days
WILMINGTON — It’s not news parents want to hear, but in a recent survey, nearly half of all New Hanover County high school students admitted to drinking alcohol in the past 30 days.
That’s why the Coastal Horizons Center is holding a town hall meeting Thursday night to talk about underage drinking prevention.
Parents, teachers and teens will be educated about the impact underage drinking has on the community.
The meeting runs from 6:30 until 8 p.m. in the old courthouse assembly room at 24 North Third Street in downtown Wilmington.
