Three Supply mobile homes burn

SUPPLY — Three mobile home fires on the same street in two days — that’s the case in one Supply neighborhood.

While nobody was in the three mobile homes that went up in flames, it was a nerve-wracking weekend for neighbors. They’re left wondering who’s next.

The fires happened on North Bluebeard Trail in Supply. The first two fires came just hours apart on Friday night. The third happened Sunday night.

All three unoccupied mobile homes are just yards from each other. Sheila Newton is one of the few year-round residents on the street. She says she saw people running from the first mobile home on Friday just minutes before it went up in flames.

She also says there was a young girl riding her bike through the neighborhood yesterday claiming to know which houses were going to be next, including the home that burned last night.

Newton said, “It’s very scary. I sat up all night waiting and watching to see what in the world’s going to happen next.”

Newtown says one of the homes has been empty for about two years, she’s never seen anyone in the second home, and a couple from Gastonia owns the home burned last night.
The cause of the fires is still under investigation.

The Fire Marshal’s Office, Sheriff’s Office and SBI are all looking into it.
