No new bus routes to Wrightsville Beach

WILMINGTON — Three weeks ago Wave Transit in New Hanover County made a major overhaul to its bus routes.

Those changes did not include the addition of routes to Wrightsville Beach. The town hasn’t had bus service for about ten years. There’s been a lot of discussion over the last year to add wave bus service to Wrightsville Beach, but for now it appears to be a dead issue.

There are two major groups that want bus service to Wrightsville Beach — the hotels & restaurants, and UNCW students.

If you’re concerned about Wave’s recent changes, or want to voice your opinion about adding routes to Wrightsville Beach, you can attend a public meeting on the matter. It takes place tomorrow from noon to 1:00 p.m., at Wave’s office on Castle Street.
