Army Corps holds public meeting regarding Titan plant tonight

Members of the public have a chance to voice their opinions tonight over the much-debated topic of bringing a Titan cement plant to New Hanover County.

The Army Corps of Engineers will facilitate a meeting to gather information from both sides.

Officials will use information heard tonight to help decide whether they will issue a permit to build along the northeast Cape Fear River in Castle Hayne.

A Corps spokesperson says one of the organization’s main concerns is determining the effect building the plant would have on water quality.

Tonight’s meeting starts at 6:00 p.m. at the Wilmington Christian Academy at 1401 North College Road.
