Obama campaign opens Wilmington headquarters

The 2008 presidential campaign has come to town.

The Obama campaign opened its Wilmington headquarters Saturdya at the corner of South 39th Street and Park Avenue. Supporters of the Democratic presidential nominee stopped by to sign up for volunteer opportunities.

On the Republican side, there still aren’t any McCain headquarters here. A spokesman from the McCain campaign says the Arizona Senator already has a strong presence in North Carolina and the campaign will be announcing new headquarter openings soon.
