Wilmington Fire Department responds to residential fire

WILMINGTON NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Fire Department was called to extinguish a residential fire at 2006 Carolina Beach Road, Tuesday evening.

Units arrived to smoke and fire showing from the basement of a two-story structure. It was quickly contained.

Residents had evacuated the home prior to the fire department’s arrival. No injuries were reported.

Carolina Beach Road was closed during the fire department’s response, it is now open to traffic.
