Naturalization ceremony held at battleship

Dozens of our military members can now vote for their next commander in chief.

One hundred servicemen and women became U.S citizens onboard our battleship today.

Congressman Mike McIntyre was the guest speaker for the ceremony.

Russia and China were among the countries represented.

The new citizens tell us that the process took anywhere from three months to two years, depending on their circumstances.

Yudelka Susana said, “It means I’m apart of the country now because I’m in the army and actually being a citizen now.”

Djibirine Agbangba said, “It’s pretty much like a dream come true when you come from another country, your ultimate goal if you are an immigrant is to become a U.S. citizen. So, it’s pretty much a dream come true.”
