NC Army post restricts water use after storm
FORT BRAGG — Water restrictions are in place after Tropical Storm Hanna dumped so much rain into the water source for Fort Bragg that the Army post’s water system can’t properly treat it.
Public works officials at Fort Bragg said Tuesday the treated water is cloudy. The base is getting some water from the city of Fayetteville, but not enough to supply all of Fort Bragg’s needs.
The post gets its water from the Lower Little River, which was stirred up by heavy rains last week from Hanna.
Fort Bragg officials said the water conservation measures will stay in place until Saturday.
