GOP candidate piloting district-wide campaign tour

ELIZABETHTOWN, N.C. — Republican congressional candidate Will Breazeale is piloting a plane across the 7th Congressional District on the seventh anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Breazeale, who is a commercial airline pilot and Iraq veteran, said he plans to visit the entire district Thursday as part of a campaign event to honor the people killed in the attacks. The GOP candidate is trying to unseat Mike McIntyre, a six-term Democratic incumbent. Breazeale said he also will talk about his health care plan which calls for all citizens to have insurance. The challenger said the plan would require people without insurance to pay for coverage by eliminating Medicaid and paying a special sales tax. (Copyright 2008 by The Associated Press.
