Foy and Rothen follow-up
Both sets of human remains found off Carolina Beach Road in April have now been identified.
Yesterday police received confirmation that the second set of bones are those of Allison Jackson Foy. An autopsy has not yet been released.
Another set of remains, found near Foy’s, was identified a month ago as Angela Rothen’s. Medical examiners think she died after having her throat cut.
Foy had been missing for about two years and Rothen had been missing for one year. Police won’t comment until Foy’s autopsy is made public.
WWAY spoke with Foy’s sister on the phone last night.
“It’s been expected to a certain extent so we’ve been able to prepare ourselves. We knew, I’ve kind of known from the beginning, but definitely since April with everything that’s come about, we kind of believed that this was her and so we prepared ourselves to that extent but the other side of that is when you hear for sure that it’s definitely your loved one, it’s tough, it’s very emotional,” said Lisa Valentino.
There have been no arrests in the ongoing investigation.
In June police searched the property of a Wilmington man, but took no further action.
