Park service offers moonlight tour of lighthouse
BUXTON, N.C. — The National Park Service is selling tickets for a full moon tour of the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse.
Tickets must be purchased in advance and are $7 for adults and $3.50 for children and senior citizens. Only 60 tickets are being sold.
Park service spokeswoman Cyndy Holda said two tours will be held Monday night.
Holda said climbers should know their limitations and stressed that there are no lights inside the circular brick tower and climbers will have to go up and down 257 steps using flashlights.
Climbers will see the lighthouse beacon reflecting on the Atlantic Ocean.
