Local Wilmington clothing shop closing its doors

After more than a decade, a Wilmington men’s clothing shop is closing its doors.

K & J Clothier has been at the same College Road location for sixteen years. Before that, owner Joe Weinstein, had a store in Lumberton. That makes it his forty-fifth year in business.

Weinstein said his decision to close was to finally have a well-deserved break.

“We’ve taken care of a lot of people and they’ve been good to us and we’ve been good to them. So I sleep very well at night, and we’re very appreciative. There’s a lot of competition in this town and I think we’ve got our share,” said Weinstein.

Mr. Weinstein said he is not sure of the exact date when K & J Clothier will close its doors for good, but there are deals to be had between now and then.
