Man in jail under $1M bond for child sex charges

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Greensboro man is facing charges in Sunset Beach in connection with child sex offenses.

According to jail logs, Harold Robert LeClair Jr., 62, was arrested yesterday evening on several charges including first degree sexual offense and indecent liberties with a child. He was booked under a $1 million bond.

According to warrants, the offenses date back to 2007 and 2008. According to Sunset Beach Assistant Police Chief Joe Smith, the offenses happened between October 2007 and March 2008 while LeClair was living on Dogwood Drive in Sunset Beach.

The warrants said the crimes were committed against two children under the age of 13 at the time of offenses. Police said additional charges could be filed as the investigation continues.
