Now, dental procedures are resuming at this facility that has had so many problems.

John Byrnes, with Concerned Veterans of America, says its all about holding the VA accountable.

“The only way that their care, their service to veterans is gonna improve is for Congress to grab the bureaucracy by the horns, so to speak, and force them to change some things, to hold them accountable, to make them more responsive to veterans needs,” Byrnes said.

Byrnes said long wait times and difficulties making appointments continue. Another veteran said he dreads coming to the clinic to receive treatment.

A spokesman said these meetings are among the hundreds planned to create an open forum under the new VA Secretary Robert McDonald.
