CFCC celebrates its oldest employee

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Cape Fear Community College celebrated the birthday of its oldest employee today with a surprise lunch.

Martha Gariglio is the college’s Matrix Specialist, and she has been working with the college since the 1990s.

Gariglio said she loves her job and even comes into work early every morning to make coffee for her co-workers who are like a family to her.

“Well I can say that I have a very extended family. I’m grandmother to some of them. Can’t be a great-grandmother to some of them, but I can be a mother to a couple of them, and so it’s like having my family here with me,” Gariglio said.

Ms. Martha’s co-workers said she is a delight to work with and that the especially love when she brings in home cooked treats on special occasions.
