Six NC gas stations will pay for price gouging

People were fuming when gas prices spiked after Hurricane Ike. It is pay back time.

The owners of six North Carolina gas stations will refund thousands of dollars for price gouging.

The attorney general said owners of Circle B and Big D gas stations in Fayetteville, Murphy, Marble and Hayesville have agreed to repay customers who bought gas at inflated prices during Ike in September.

More than 3,700 price gouging complaints were filed with the state that month, and more than a dozen subpoenas were issued.

More settlements may still be coming.
