NC woman charged with DWI at fast-food drive-thru
SHELBY, N.C. (AP) – Shelby police have charged a woman with driving while impaired after finding her slumped over the wheel of a car stopped in the drive-through line at a fast-food restaurant.
The Shelby Star reports (http://bit.ly/17hOyDM) that police said officers responded to a call about a car sitting in the drive-through lane of a McDonald’s with the driver slumped over the steering wheel. It was the second such case in two weeks.
A police report said the car driven by 22-year-old Brianna Marie Edmondson was blocking the drive-through on Sunday. The lower of two breath samples taken registered a .20, which is more than twice the legal limit.
Edmondson is being held on a $2,500 secured bond at the Cleveland County jail. It’s not known if she has an attorney.
