WPD introduces online system for tracking valuables

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Today, the Wilmington Police Department introduced a free online program for citizens to track their valuables.

With the program, citizens can upload photos and serial numbers of anything from electronics to designer clothing. In the event that property is stolen, the police will quickly be able to obtain information uploaded to the website, in order to track down the items.

Last year, the department says it helped citizens recover more than $600,000 in stolen property.
