Local kids earn cash for Halloween candy

Wilmington, NC (WWAY) — Surf City Dental is hosting their 5th annual Halloween Buy Back. Trick-or-treaters can bring their leftover candy to Surf City Dental and receive $1 per pound.

Dr. Matt Parr of Surf City Dental is leading the movement and said “We’re hoping kids will begin to limit or ditch the excess candy. Visiting your dentist twice a year and brushing daily are great preventative measures, but doing away with excess sweets altogether would really give you a healthy boost.”

Kids can now have the fun of trick or treating and earn a few bucks in the process.

Bring excess candy to Surf City Dental on Monday, November 2nd from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Candy must be unopened and children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

The candy will be packaged up and donated to troops fighting over seas.
