Voter Confusion in New Hanover County

Confusion at the polls have some voters in New Hanover County wondering if their votes will ever get counted.

More than 200 voters had to fill out provisional ballots at the UNCW campus precinct after confusion on registration information. Election officials say many of the discrepancies dealt with address changes and voters not notifying the Board of Elections with updated information.

Precinct officials said voter confusion on their correct polling site is what led to so many provisional ballots.

Each provisional ballot will be investigated on a case-by-case basis and tallied officially on November 14th.
