Free parking at Wrightsville Beach

Free parking at Wrightsville Beach is a nice upside during this economic downturn.

With it feeling more like spring recently, people have been spending their days at the beach and their wallets are getting a bit of a break.

Officials took down the solar powered parking machines the first of November. For area residents, free beach parking is quite a treat.

“That it’s free! We found that the parking was free, and we are new residents to the area, so it was a really pleasant surprise for us,” said Wilmington resident, Lisa Hamilton.

The free parking ends March 1st.
