County positions receive raise, good marks

The New Hanover County attorney, manager and clerk all received rave performance reviews Monday, but they won’t reap financial benefits.

The annual employee evaluations usually come with a substantial raise, but due to tough economic times, attorney Wanda Copley, manager Bruce Shell, and clerk Sheila Schult only received 2% as opposed to the usual 5%.

County Commissioner Bill Caster said that is what all the other employees got and it is only fair they all be treated equal.
