Preview still available for NC drug `bling’
RALEIGH — The public still can catch a glimpse of the jewelry seized from North Carolina drug dealers before it is sold in a public auction at the State Fairgrounds in Raleigh.
The state Department of Revenue said the 200 lots of jewelry can be viewed for two hours before the 10 a.m. auction Thursday.
Items to be auctioned were taken by the Unauthorized Substance Tax Division and usually are sold by sealed bids.
The division collects taxes owed on drugs like marijuana and cocaine seized by police.
Items in the sale include rings, watches and bracelets as well as a jewel-studded gorilla pendant.
