Hundreds walk to help end Alzheimer’s

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — More than 600 people got up off the couch and walked for a good cause this weekend. The Walk to End Alzheimer’s drew people from around the area to support research and finding a cure for Alzheimer’s.

Charlotte Rosenburg, event organizer, said $12,000 was raised from just this event. She said these events are so important if lives are going to be saved.

“There are a lot of people in this community, and you saw them today, that are living with a diagnosis, or they are taking care of someone with a diagnosis of this disease,” said Rosenburg. “And it not only impacts the individual but it impacts an entire family.”

More than $58,000 has been raised so far for the Alzheimer’s Association toward this year’s goal of $75,000.
