State dips into community college budgets

Last week, WWAY told you about county school districts giving back some of their state appropriations to offset the state deficit. Late last week, the state also dipped into community college budgets.

All local community colleges will need to give back a percentage of their state funding. Cape Fear is going to give back close to one million dollars.

A spokesperson said the school will hold off on hiring for the time being, and that this should not affect their expansion plans.
