Dramatic drop in fatal car accidents this Thanksgiving holiday
North Carolina saw a dramatic drop in the number of fatal car accidents during last week’s Thanksgiving holiday.
Monday the state highway patrol said seven people died in collisions between Wednesday and Sunday. Last year, 21 motorists were killed.
It sounds like good news, but police are crediting the drop in fatal accidents to fewer travelers. AAA Carolinas expected about 25,000 fewer motorists in North and South Carolina to travel more than 50 miles from home this year.
