Pastries served up today by CFCC’s culinary students

Cape Fear Community College culinary students served up a tasty end of the semester project Tuesday.

To showcase their work, students and staff held an open house. Members of the community, as well as CFCC faculty and staff, stopped by to enjoy cakes, cookies, and other tempting treats.

A five dollar donation at the event will help the culinary club in their community service projects as well as allow them to buy supplies.

Danielle Hicks, a CFCC culinary student, said, “It’s really exciting that people are coming in from the community and know that we’re actually here. A lot of people didn’t realize we had a culinary program, so it’s exciting that we get to show the community what we can do.”

WWAY’s Sonya S0tevens and Tim Pulliam had the tough job of serving as judges for the desserts. They loved every minute of it.
