Columbus County looking to bring in new business
Columbus County is trying to attract some new business.
Monday night the county commission voted to offer tax incentives to an unidentified company from New York that would make sweet potato French fries.
The benefits make the company eligible for more than $46,000 in tax breaks over the next five years. The company would bring 54 new jobs to a county that just lost hundreds.
The company still has not made any commitments.
