Teenagers charged with murder, victim was Facebook friends with suspects
RALEIGH — A judge has refused bond to four teenagers charged in with murder in the death of a missing teen who lists all the suspects as friends on his Facebook and MySpace pages.
The state medical examiner determined Thursday the body found in a mobile home in Wake County was that of 18-year-old Matthew Josiah Silliman. He had been missing more than a week.
A Wake County judge also set a Dec. 22 court date for 16-year-old Drew Shaw, 18-year-old Ryan Hare and 17-year-old Aadil Khan of Apex; and 17-year-old Allegra Dahlquist of Cary.
Comments posted on some of the suspects’ social networking sites range from well wishes and concerns about the arrests to an expletive-filled rant against Shaw.
Authorities said they haven’t determined a motive but evidence indicates the crime is a homicide.
