Christmas spirit alive and well in Wilmington
Normally, you hear a lot about the negative side of humanity, but a story WWAYTV3 brought you yesterday helped bring out the positive.
A father of five, Craig Strauss lost his job a couple of days ago. We interviewed him to find out the steps he’s taken to file for unemployment and the struggles he’s discovered.
One local man could relate to Craig’s hardship, so he called the station and asked to give Craig some money to buy his kids a couple of Christmas gifts.
The act of kindness touched Craig’s heart. “Change what you do to change what you get and if you help out it will come back to you maybe not to today or tomorrow but when you’re in that bind. It will come back and it will help you remember that.”
Craig truly believes that the times he helped others in the past came around today when the stranger gave him some money to buy Christmas gifts he couldn’t afford.
The man who gave him money didn’t want to be recognized because he said he didn’t want any thanks; he just wanted to help.
