Toys for Tots and Harley Davidson on a mission for donations

With the current state of the economy, Toys for Tots has more children to take care of this year. To help needy New Hanover County kids, Toys for Tots is teaming up with the Harley Davidson store in Wilmington.

Motorcycles of all kinds will meet at the Harley store on Market Street this Sunday at noon for a special ride around town. Their mission is to encourage people to donate to the Toys for Tots program.

“With the economy this year, it’s absolutely essential that we not forget the most vulnerable who’d be the children of the parents who are in trouble financially,” said John Dunn, Toys for Tots coordinator.

You can donate toys at over 100 locations across New Hanover County, including here at the News Channel 3 studios.

All the toys go to local children. One thousand bikes are expected to participate in the Toys for Tots ride Sunday, so expect delays across town from 12:00 p.m. till 2:00 p.m.
