Monkey Junction to possibly join city

Monkey Junction could soon be one step closer to being part of the city of Wilmington.

City council members vote Tuesday night on a resolution of intent, which is the first part of a possible annexation. 1.2 square miles and about 3,000 people would be affected by the move.

If council approves the resolution to move forward, there will be an information session and public hearing in the next few months.
