2 teens arrested in shooting of Charlotte officer
CHARLOTTE, NC (AP) — Two teens have been arrested in the shooting and wounding of an off-duty Charlotte police officer.
Nineteen-year-old Kevin Watson McClary has been charged with two counts of armed robbery, attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, first-degree burglary and possession of a gun by a convicted felon.
A 17-year-old has been charged as an accessory.
Police say more charges are expected.
Police say someone broke into the apartment of Officer Jon Durham around 6 a.m. Sunday.
Dunham was taken to Carolinas Medical Center with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. He was listed in stable condition Monday.
The officer’s son was in the apartment at the time and was not hurt.
Dunham has been with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department since 2008.
