NC man dies in parking lot crash

WINSTON-SALEM — Police say a North Carolina man died when his vehicle jumped a curb in a store parking lot and crashed into a tree.

The Winston-Salem Journal reported Thursday that 63-year-old John Milton Lord of Winston-Salem was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash happened about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of a Target store.

Investigators said the vehicle was going about 40 mph when it crashed but couldn’t say why the wreck happened.
