Wilmington traffic signal system to be upgraded
The North Carolina Transportation Board has hired a contractor for $2.5 million to upgrade to the city’s traffic signal system.
Improvements will include intersection controller upgrades, new signal wiring, and help installing a communications network with wireless technology.
The improvements will effect intersections between Market and Dawson from Third Street to College Road.
Work is scheduled to begin in April, and be finished within two years.
