NC woman killed, daughter wounded in shooting

CHARLOTTE — Charlotte police say a man has killed his girlfriend and shot at two of her teenage children in their home.

The Charlotte Observer reports 46-year-old Scott E. Davis Sr. was arrested Sunday and charged with murder and three counts of attempted murder.

Police say Davis shot 38-year-old Gabrielle Kinard during a domestic disturbance late Saturday night.

Investigators say Davis also shot at Kinard’s children, critically injuring an 18-year-old woman fleeing with her 5-month-old sister in her arms. A 15-year-old girl escaped the home
with only minor injuries.

Authorities say it is the third homicide involving domestic violence in Charlotte in the past two weeks.

Davis remains in jail. It wasn’t immediately clear if he had an attorney.
